What factors will affect the actual displacement of screw compressor?

The theoretical displacement of screw compressor depends on the volume between the teeth, the number of teeth and the speed. The intertooth volume is determined by the geometry of the rotor. For the compressor, the actual exhaust capacity is less than the theoretical exhaust capacity for the following possible reasons:

1) leakage. There is no contact between the rotors and between the rotor and the housing when running, and there is a certain gap, so there will be gas leakage. When the gas with increased pressure leaks through the gap to the suction pipe and the suction groove, the exhaust volume will be reduced. In order to reduce the leakage, the top of the driven rotor tooth is provided with a sealing tooth, the root of the active rotor is provided with a sealing groove, and the end face is also processed with a ring or strip sealing tooth. If these sealing lines are worn, the leakage will increase and the exhaust will be reduced;

2) inspiratory state. Screw compressor is a positive displacement compressor, the suction volume is constant. When the suction temperature rises, or the suction pipe resistance is too large and the suction pressure is reduced, the density of the gas decreases, and the mass displacement of the gas will be correspondingly reduced.

3) Cooling effect. The temperature of the gas will rise in the process of compression, and the temperature of the rotor and casing will rise correspondingly. Therefore, in the process of inhalation, the gas will be heated by the rotor and casing and expand, so the amount of inhalation will be correspondingly reduced. Some of the rotors of screw air compressors use oil cooling, and the casing is cooled with water. One of their purposes is to reduce its temperature. When the cooling effect is not good, the temperature is increased, the exhaust volume will be reduced;

4) speed. The displacement of the screw compressor is proportional to the speed. And the speed tends to change with the voltage and frequency of the grid. When the voltage is lowered (for asynchronous motors) or the frequency is lowered, the speed will decrease, resulting in a reduction in air volume.
