Expanding knowledge of air compressor installation

For the water-cooled air compressor, most of the heat is transferred to the cooling water through the heat exchanger, and the cooling water takes the heat away. At this time, it only needs to set a small fan to take away a small part of the heat from the main motor. For the air-cooled compressor, a large amount of fresh air is needed to exchange the heat generated in the compression process, so the inlet of fresh air must be considered. The inlet should preferably be close to the cooling air suction inlet of the air compressor (the air inlet used for the compression part should also be close to the fresh air inlet).

If necessary, a separate air duct can be set to introduce fresh air, so as to avoid the influence of hot air in the air compressor room on the cooling process. Of course, it depends on the structure of the air compressor room and the situation of the customers. Generally speaking, the air duct should be set to export the hot air through heat exchange to the air compressor room. If necessary, the fan or fan should be set at the outlet to enhance the export effect of hot air.

The fresh air inlet mentioned above should be set at the low position of the air compressor room, and the hot air outlet (including the corresponding fan or fan) should be set at the high position. Because the hot air density is small, it will generally stay at the high position. This setting will be conducive to the hot air outlet, and prevent the hot air from entering the air inlet again and causing short circuit of air flow.

In addition, it should be noted that it is better to set the fresh air inlet and the hot air outlet on two opposite walls respectively, and the purpose of doing so is also to prevent the exhaust hot air from entering the air inlet again and causing short circuit of air flow. In order to avoid more dust or catkins from entering the air compressor room, it is better to set dust isolation grid at the entrance of fresh air, and rain cover at the outlet of hot air to prevent rainwater from flowing into the exhaust duct.

No matter the air duct of the air inlet or the air duct of the air outlet, large diameter reduction or elbow should be avoided, because it will cause large ventilation resistance and affect the ventilation effect. Because the air in the air compressor room is constantly used for compression and cooling, and the fresh air supplement is generally passive, so the air compressor room will generally maintain a certain negative pressure, which is normal.

However, if the negative pressure value exceeds the allowable value, it means that the size of the air inlet or the air intake volume needs to be improved, because the negative pressure value is too large, which will cause poor cooling effect and reduced exhaust volume.

Although the above content is relatively simple, it is very important. If we can work together with users to do a good job in this aspect, we have ruled out 50% of the possibility of failure. It can be seen that it is very worthwhile for us and users to spend more energy on this aspect.
