The main role and use of air compressors?

The three basic types of air compressors include:

 Reciprocating

 Rotary

 Centrifugal

The above three types of air compressors can be further divided into:

 Bare metal and machine

 Air and water cooling

 Fuel injection and no oil

Let's briefly discuss the following three types of air compressors:

 Reciprocating air compressor

Size is 0.7MPa (G) - range of 0.72Kw and 0.028M3/min to 932 Kw and 176.4M3/min

The reciprocating air compressor is a variable displacement compressor. This type of compressor compresses the air enclosed in a confined space one by one (reducing its volume) to increase its air pressure. The reciprocating air compressor completes the above compression process by using one piston in the cylinder as the original of the compression displacement.

When the compression process is completed by only one side of the piston, the reciprocating type is called a single-acting air compressor, and if it is completed by the two ends of the piston, it is called double action. Reciprocating air compressors have many spring-loaded valves on each cylinder. The valve will only open when the pressure difference across the valve reaches a certain value.

When the pressure in the cylinder is slightly lower than the intake pressure, the intake valve opens, and the exhaust valve opens when the pressure in the cylinder is slightly higher than the exhaust pressure.

If the compression process is completed by a cylinder or a group of single stage cylinders, the air compressor is referred to as a single stage air compressor. Many actual operating conditions exceed the capabilities of a single-stage air compressor. The compression ratio (exhaust/intake pressure) can cause overheating of the exhaust gas or other design issues.

Many reciprocating air compressors with a power of more than 75Kw are designed as multi-stage units. The compression process consists of two or more stages. There is usually a cooling function between the stages to reduce the temperature entering the next stage.

Reciprocating air compressors are available in both fuel injection and oil-free, with a wide range of options for pressure and gas volume.

 Rotary air compressor

0.85M3/min -- 85M3/min rotary air compressor is a variable displacement compressor. The most common rotary air compressor is a single-stage oil-injected screw air compressor. This compressor has two in the machine cavity. The rotor, through the rotor to compress the air, there is no valve inside. This type of air compressor is generally oil-cooled (the cooling medium is air or water), which acts as a seal.

Since the cooling is carried out inside the air compressor, the components do not have a very high temperature. Therefore, the rotary air compressor is a continuous working system which can be designed as an air-cooled or water-cooled unit.

Due to the simple structure and less wearing parts, the rotary screw air compressor is easy to maintain, operate, and has the characteristics of flexible installation. The rotary air compressor can be installed on any floor that can support the weight.

The two-stage injection rotary screw air compressor has two pairs of rotors in the main unit, and the compression process is completed by serially compressing the first stage and the second stage. The two-stage rotary air compressor has the characteristics of simple structure, flexibility and high efficiency. The two-stage rotary screw air compressor can be air-cooled and water-cooled as well as fully packaged.

The oil-free rotary screw air compressor uses a specially designed mainframe that can be compressed without oil injection, resulting in oil-free compressed air. The oil-free rotary screw air compressor is air-cooled and water-cooled, and has the same flexibility as fuel injection. As you can see, the rotary screw air compressor has air-cooling, water-cooling, fuel injection, oil-free, single-stage and two-stage, and has wide applicability in pressure, gas volume and structure.

 Centrifugal air compressor

11.2M3/min -- The 420M3/min centrifugal air compressor is a dynamic air compressor. It converts energy through a rotating turbine. The rotor realizes the above conversion by changing the kinetic energy and pressure of the air. The change of kinetic energy to pressure is achieved by reducing the flow rate of air by a stationary diffuser.

The centrifugal air compressor is an oil-free air compressor, and the lubricating oil of the moving gear is sealed by the shaft seal and air.

The centrifugal type is a continuous working type compressor with few moving parts, which is especially suitable for the requirement of no oil in the atmosphere.

Centrifugal air compressors are water-cooled, typical units include aftercoolers and all controls
